St. Ignace Township is located in the Eastern Upper Peninsula of Michigan, in Mackinac County. It consists of approximately 97 square miles of land and 45 square miles of water, with a population of approximately 1000 people.

Budget Public Hearing and Regular Board Meeting
Our regular board meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. at the St. Ignace Township Hall located at N 4298 Gorman Road, St. Ignace, MI 49781.
The St. Ignace Township Board will hold a public hearing on the proposed township budget for fiscal year 2025-26 at the St. Ignace Township Hall, N4298 Gorman Road, St. Ignace, MI 49781, on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. A copy of the proposed budget will be available for inspection at the meeting or by contacting the Township Clerk, Sheri Oja, at 906-430-7476 or email, st.ignacetwpclerk@hotmail.com.
The property tax millage rate proposed to be levied to support the proposed budget will be a subject of this hearing.

At this time, we do not accept credit cards for payment. Yes we do. An address change can be made via written request. No names can be changed unless a deed is recorded at the Mackinac County Register of deeds first. You can contact Mackinac County Register of Deeds at 906-643-7306 for name/deed change procedure. Any summer taxes paid after the due date, will incur interest charges at 1% per month but is still due to the Township Treasurer. Any property taxes paid after the due date of February 28/29th will incur interest and penalty fees, and will then need to be paid to Mackinac County Treasurer at 100 S Marley St, St Ignace, MI 49781, they can be reached at 906-643-7318, As all delinquent taxes get turned over to Mackinac County Treasurer March 1 of each year. There are 3 options to make your property tax payments, 1), mail directly to PO BOX 325 St Ignace, MI 49781 2), Drop payment off at First National Bank Of St Ignace (Main Branch ONLY) located at 132 N State St, St Ignace MI (from July thru the last day of February) 3,) On the Property Tax due dates from 9am-5pm at the Treasurer’s home located at 2019 Shore Dr, St. Ignace, MI 49781. Tax Due Dates are September 14th and Last day of February. If the due date falls on a weekend, we collect on the first Monday after the due date.
